A Pueblo Magico Tour

Pueblos Magicos are towns recognized by the Mexican government for their “magical” qualities, whether that be their astonishing beauty, rich history, or extraordinary legends.

Join this tour that will include visiting 3 Pueblo Magicos, described as the most enchanting cities in central Mexico.

All guests will arrive in Mexico City and transported via bus for a 3-night stay in Taxco, known for its silver and panoramic views, then transported via bus to Puebla for a 4-night stay in the Centro Historico, and 1 day trip to Cholula.

Rose Mendoza and Claudia Lopez, both Mexican Culture experts, curated this cultural experience and will be your guides.

This is an all-inclusive tour upon arrival to Mexico City; the group will be limited to 20 guests.

Taxco

Taxco is stunningly picturesque, whether you’re on the mountaintop looking down into the city, or viewing across one of the many vantage points through  Taxco’s steep terrain, exploring the narrow streets and alleyways that break open into plazas and courtyards.  The natural light in this mountain town is something to look forward to, and the sunsets can be extraordinary. The group will explore the historic churches, boutiques that specialize in silver and folk art.

Hotel Accommodations: Hotel Agua Escondida

Agua Escondida is located at the heart of the Taxco; in front of the famous Cathedral of Santa Prisca and surrounded by the best jewelers, museums, shops, banks, bars, restaurants, and more.

Puebla

Puebla and its sister city, Cholula, are home to 200+ colonial churches built during Spanish rule in Mexico. They are most famous for their domes and chapels that are decorated with Catholic themes to include statues of angels, saints, and virgins, all figures symbolizing faith, many artfully gilded in gold.

We will begin in the Zocalo, the heart of Puebla’s historical center, surrounded by shops, restaurants, the Cathedral, and the Municipal Palace, almost all cultural attractions and restaurants are within walking distance from the Zocalo. We will explore the many cultural attractions, and enjoy la cocina poblana to include mole! The group will explore the artist communities, mercados, and famed Talavera shops.

Hotel Accomodations : Casa Reyna Hotel

Casa Reyna Hotel is located in the heart of Puebla’s historic district, offers, a restaurant, and bar.  Casareyna is an icon in Puebla, a landmark in Mexican hospitality and gastronomy.

Cholula

This will be a one-day trip to Cholula, well known for its archaeological park, and the world’s largest pyramid – Pirámide Tepanapa – One of most of Mexico’s famous images is the Virgen de Los Remedios church as built on top of the pyramid, with the volcano in the background.

Bus Transportation – Upon arrival the group will be transported via private bus to Taxco & Puebla

Walking – This tour does involve walking on uneven street surfaces and steep walkways.

Travel insurance – It is recommended guests purchase travel insurance, we can recommend the best coverage based on your requirements.

Weather – The average temperature is 70 degrees during the day, but can drop to 40 degrees at night.

Refund Policy – All refunds are honored up to 45 days prior to departure.

COVID-19 – Due to the current uncertainty related to COVID-19 and vaccination availability, we will update our policy 3 months prior to departure.

All guests will arrive by 4 pm and be greeted in CDMX, in the greeting area, outside of customs. A bus will transport the group to Taxco, approximately 2.5 hours. Upon arrival, guests will be checked into the Hotel Agua Escondida. Dinner will be offered at the hotel.

The day will begin with breakfast at the hotel. The group will proceed with a visit to Plaza Borda, the main Plaza, to include the famous Santa Prisca Cathedral, an impressive baroque structure that looks out to the main plaza. A Visit the Museo de la Plateria, the silver museum, where you can learn about the process for crafting silver, and see some fine pieces on display. Lunch in the plaza, followed by a ride in the cable car that goes up to Monte Taxco Hotel for some great photo ops. Return to the hotel for some rest and reflection, the day will end with dinner in the main plaza.

We will begin the day with breakfast, followed by silver boutique shopping and a visit to the cultural center. A visit to a local artisan will be arranged after lunch. The remainder of the day will be free for guests to visit the remaining cathedrals, shopping the winding streets of Taxco, or take in a spa treatment at the hotel. The final dinner will be arranged in the main plaza.

Early breakfast and depart to Puebla., approx 3-hour drive. Upon arrival to Puebla, guests will be checked in the hotel, and refresh, then on to the Zocalo, for lunch and Double Decker Bus tour to tour the main attractions of the “City of Angels”

The day will begin with breakfast daily at the hotel, then on to explore Puebla’s cultural center, museums, and Calle del Dulce. Lunch in the Plaza, rest, and people watch. Dinner will be a special experience, enjoying one of many Pueblas specialties, Mole.

All the talavera stores, callejones, and barrios in Puebla historic district are an adventure. We will visit Barrio del Artista to shop for art, El Callejón de Los Sapos for antiques, and a flea market along the way. Plaza de Los Sapos is where you’ll find jewelry and local art. We will discover local cuisine for lunch, including Cemitas!. A return to the hotel for rest, and dinner in the main plaza.

Via private bus, just a short trip from Puebla, we will experience; The Great Pyramid of Cholula, the world’s largest pyramid topped by the Virgen de Los Remedios church. In Cholula, we will experience the archaeological sites, and a climb up to the church at the top of the pyramid, also browse shops along the way, and a stroll around the main plaza.

Pack your treasures as this will be our final day of The Pueblo Magico Tour! The group will enjoy a final breakfast, transport via bus to Mexico City airport, approximately a 2-hour drive. For guests that wish to extend their visit to Mexico City, we can arrange for an additional fee.
