Authors, Rose Mendoza and Claudia Lopez are delighted to introduce their personal collection of Mexican Folk Hearts, a beautifully curated pictorial book that brings together colorful imagery of Mexican  folk hearts with poetic storytelling.

Our true love of Mexican Folk Hearts started in San Miguel de Allende MX, a colonial town known as “El Corazon de Mexico” or “The Heart of Mexico,” home to a vibrant community of artesanos. As collectors of Mexican Folk Art and boutique shop owners, we have a passion for supporting artesanos that represent Mexican culture.

In this pictorial book, we introduce our personal collection & inspirations of cultural-themed folk hearts from various regions of Mexico, classified as “Arte Popular” or “Popular Art for the People”. We have curated this collection based on our travels throughout Mexico.

This visually captivating book features a carefully curated selection of folk hearts with themes of birds, flowers, wings, and faith. Through photography and poetic verses, Mexican Folk Hearts showcases the craftsmanship, vibrant colors, and deep-rooted traditions of Mexican folk art. Highlighting the town of San Miguel de Allende MX,  a colonial town known as “El Corazon de Mexico” (The Heart of Mexico), and their passion for supporting artesanos (artisans) who preserve the heart and soul of Mexican culture. The book offers readers an intimate glimpse into the world of Arte Popular, a rich and meaningful expression of Mexican identity, encapsulating everything from cultural pride to spiritual belief, and serves as a bridge between past and present, connecting artisans, communities, and their Mexican cultural legacy.

Whether you’re a seasoned collector, an art enthusiast, or simply someone who loves exploring the rich tapestry of Mexican culture, this book will inspire a deep appreciation for the beauty and significance of Arte Popular.
