Sketching the Spirit: Continuous Line Drawing in Mexico City

Let go, loosen up, and capture the world around you with the fluid and meditative practice of continuous line sketching! Perfect for beginners and experienced artists alike, this class focuses on the joy of process over perfection, using expressive, unbroken lines to free the spirit and quiet the ego. Through a series of playful exercises, you’ll develop confidence, spontaneity, and a fresh way of seeing. We’ll take our sketchbooks on the go, immersing ourselves in the vibrant energy of Mexico City as we sketch its streets, people, and iconic sites—turning fleeting moments into art!

Sacred Circles: Creating Modern Mandalas with Mixed Media

Sacred Pages: Art Journaling with Guadalupe

Cultural Experiences

Step into one of Mexico's most revered spiritual sites, the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The breathtaking design of the modern basilica, which houses the miraculous image of the Virgen de Guadalupe—a symbol of faith and unity for millions. Wander through the serene grounds, which include the old basilica, a stunning hilltop chapel, and panoramic views of Mexico City. This sacred experience is a journey through devotion, history, and awe-inspiring beauty.

A visit to Xochimilco, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its picturesque canals and floating gardens.  We will be doing onsite sketching experiments while cruising the famed canals of Xochimilco.

A visit to La Casa Azul in Coyoacan & the open art market where you can purchase original art.

Visits to San Angel neighborhood and El Casitillo de Chapultpec.

Bio: Yoli Manzo has exhibited her artwork at numerous galleries, on television, and at art festivals throughout Northern California. In addition to creating art, Yoli teaches mixed media workshops at her studio as well as a guest teacher at other studios, venues, and retreats. She has a love for bright colors, textiles, and just about any media she can throw on a canvas. Yoli was a resident artist at ARTHOUSE, (Studio 10) in Sacramento, CA for six years.
