San Miguel de Allende – Dia De Los Muertos

Our first-day tour will begin in the El Jardin, also known as the Centro Historic. A local tour guide will host a lunch and landmark tour, highlighting San Miguels de Allende important landmarks, and ofrendas honoring Dia de Los Muertos.

We will visit Casa Corazon Art Gallery and Casa Antigua de Canal. Then walk towards the Bellas Arte art school, enjoy many boutiques along the way, such as “La Victorina” and “La Buena Vida Bakery”. We can enjoy an ice-cream or coffee break and people watch in the Jardin. Guests can rest until dinner or continue enjoying the shops. After dinner in Centro Historico, the group will relax and enjoy Mariachis in the plaza.

The group will enjoy a lavish Sunday breakfast buffet. Breakfast is served in the outdoor patio, adorned with traditional table settings. We will visit “Artisans Alley” also known as Mercado de Artesenias, it’s a market at Plaza Lanatón stretching across several streets with stalls selling beautiful handmade artisanal crafts and gifts, affordable prices. A must visit, as you will get the full Mercado experience. Your guide will point out the best shops that offer quality goods, to include silver jewelry, day of the dead figurines and home décor. The group will have lunch “El Pegaso” a fun rooftop restaurant. After a nice break, we will return to the Jardin, to continue visiting art galleries, antique shops, Mexican folk art stores. Dinner will be hosted at “La Posada” a favorite rooftop restaurant. An obligatory stop after dinner at Cafetería San Agustín is something of an institution in San Miguel. Popular with visitors from elsewhere in Mexico on account of its owner, former Mexican soap opera star Margarita Gralia, it is similarly renowned for its churros con chocolate: crisp doughnut sticks, dusted in sugar and served with freshly made drinking chocolate for dipping.

Visit Querétaro! Wonderful city full of history, culture and modernity. Its original name means “Place of stones”. Querétaro was a fundamental piece in the conspiracy for the Independence of Mexico and in 1917 it was the place where the Mexican Political Constitution was promulgated. Today we can see a city that pays homage to the past with the preservation of its buildings, keeping its streets clean and holding the UNESCO title of Cultural Heritage of Humanity and at the same time opening its wings to the future, becoming a of the best cities in the country. Come and see El Mirador, The Aqueduct, The Temple of San Francisco, De Santa Rosa Viterbo, The Convent of La Santa Cruz and De San Agustín, among other magnificent building

The group will have a free day to visit art galleries and cafes

Time to Celebrate! The group will have free time to enjoy “La Catrina Parade”. Continue shopping and enjoy mid-day Mezcal. A full itinerary will be provided to the group to enjoy festivities.

We will begin the day on my favorite street “Zacateros”, so many cute shops and plazas to include Abrazos (colorful fabrics and aprons), Gaby’s (hand painted Tin Art) , Pinche Grabador (art gallery), and Mayolica Ceramica. A wonderful lunch at, Jacinto 1680, a quaint cafe that offers unique one of a kind gourmet tacos. An optional afternoon day trip to visit to a designated World Heritage Site, the Santuario de Atotonilco that was built in the 18th century by a Father Luis Felipe, also described as the Mexican Sistine chapel. Also, visit the upscale folk art store Galeria Atotonilco. Dinner will be enjoyed in the Centro Historico.
