What to Expect

We are excited to offer an exclusive Culinary Vacation,  a week filled with traditional and mixed with modern Mexican flavors. Each guest will be treated to a daily culinary experience, tastings that range from traditional dishes, such as “Chiles en Nogados” to flavors created by  modern chefs, such as Enrique Olvera’, owner of the exclusive new restaurant “Moxie”. The vacation will include daily-guided shopping, history & food tours. Daily home cooked breakfasts, and culinary demonstrations related to Mexican food traditions


Day 1Welcome to Casa Alta Vista!

Check in and enjoy your special greeting with appetizers and sangria

Day 2Tastings & Mercado Tour

Specialty home cooked breakfast, followed by a cooking demonstration. On to a guided shopping tour within San Miguel historic Centro, enjoy Mexican themed silver jewelry designs. After a nice late afternoon break and refreshment, a dinner at an exclusive restaurant that celebrated San Miguel flavors.

Day 3Cooking Demonstration and Food Tour

Specialty home cooked breakfast, followed by a Chiles,Chiles, Chiles – Caliente demonstration. On to a food walking tour, tasting up to 8 restaurants and bars. After a late afternoon break, enjoy a shopping excursion focused on San Miguel Designer Shoes and dinner at a traditional meal “Chiles en Nogado restaurant located close to “El Jardin.”

Day 4The Art of Mexican Bread – Pan Dulce!

Specialty home cooked breakfast, followed by a Mexican Bread – Pan Dulce demonstration. On to a art walking tour, and a lite lunch at “El Café Popular”. Afternoon will visit the oldest bakery in San Miguel, we can select our favorite “pan dulce”. Dinner will be at Tio Lucas” a local downtown favorite that highlights beautiful folk art.

Day 5A Celebrity Chef Experience

Breakfast will be celebrated in the Centro Historic, followed by walk to the “Artisan Alley” to shop for Mexican Folk Art Specialties. Afternoon will be free time to further explore. Farewell dinner “Moxie” an exclusive restaurant- owned by celebrity chef Enrique Olvera.

Solo Traveller

San Miguel de Allende has always been on my travel bucket list. Dulce Vida Tour was perfect, we celebrated the food and art, and accommodations were beautiful!
