Mexico City – Design Capital of the World

Experience the Creative Spirt

Amiga’s that seek a fun and affordable travel adventure will fall in love with Mexico City, known as a foodie and art lover’s paradise. Home of the celebrated artist Frida Kahlo.

Mexico City is home to 20 million people and offers an incredible number of museums, murals, parks, ancient pyramids, shopping, architecture and food that range from comida tipica to mouth watering cuisine, all affordable, compared to European capital cities. The city has an amazing connection to its past, and is present in each neighborhood. Each neighborhood is sprinkled with magical realism due to the many contrasts; modern and historic, colonial and indigenous, European and New World.

Join us we celebrate the life of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo who is remembered for her self-portraits, pain and passion, and bold, vibrant colors. She is celebrated in Mexico for her attention to Mexican and indigenous culture and by feminists for her depiction of the female experience and form.

At the Frida Kahlo Museum in Mexico City, her personal belongings are on display throughout the house, as if she still lived there. Kahlo was born and grew up in this building, whose cobalt walls gave way to the nickname of the Blue House.
